2013-10-23 Off The Shelf

We were invited to Totley Library to give a few talks as part of the Sheffield ‘Off the Shelf’ festival – a festival of words. An audience of about 30 turned up and enjoyed a talk by Mike on ‘Navigating the Night Sky’ and ‘Tour of the Planets’ by Carl.There were some very interesting questions at the end, Why are planets spherical? and What are Saturn’s Rings made of? being a couple. After the talks the audience went outside to view some of what they had just heard as for once we had a clear sky. The Summer Triangle positioned itself very nicely right outside the front door.
